Bella Gardening....

Aside from the Greenhouse, there's not
much worth photographing this time of
year.................

Digging through pics taken in late summer
I found this one of Bella checking on the
Dwarf Medusa plant.

The Greenhouse has been moved

Finally got the greenhouse moved,
onto a new paved base, with a
raised bed......

Now I just need to find time to build the staging,
re-fence the plot, dig over the beds and then
maybe get round to planning what to grow
next year.

Another Cayenne plant from work

Marcia's cayenne plant

Looks like there are quite a few green chillies
lurking in the background waiting to ripen

Wednesday, October 10, 2007

Not much going on at the moment,
The short cold summer hasn't helped
the chillies grow.

A bed of cayenne peppers with sprouts -
I don't even like sprouts............................

The Cayenne chilli challenge

Everyone at work was given a Cayenne
pepper seedling a couple of months ago.

The first pictures are coming in,
Jeremy is leading the way with the
first fruits.

Finally some produce

Beetroot, courgette,marrow, parsnips
and loads of runner beans.

Although no such success with
the butternut squash,cucumbers
and celery.

Despite the bad weather this year
the chilli plants have flowered, one
of the cayenne peppers below.

The Cayenne Plants have started growing

Cayenne plant

The back garden is getting crowded with mini greenhouses,
pots and soil.
Although not for much longer as the plants are nearly big enough
to be moved to the allotment.

Another use for chillies

A Jalapeno being used as a battery.
In this example copper wire and a steel nail are used.

You can get voltage just by probing the pepper with
a sensitive meter {from 0 to about 2 volts.}
Although you get about a half a volt, the current

is only about 2 to 4 milliamps.

Plot 2

Hopefully this weekend a rotavator will appear courtesy of Lee
and roar into action to finally get to grips with the overgrown
second plot.

Larry the lawn mower (don't ask) supplied by a friend a couple of weeks ago is still in the shed ready for it's first run on saturday.

Pics of smoke, petrol and machinery to follow shortly

Plan for 2007

This is the plan for 2007

http://img157.imageshack.us/img157/8329/plannc4.jpg

Although looking at it now seems quite ambitious
seeing as only 6 beds are dug - only another 20 to go!
